EOC-USI AGREEMENT: THE LABORATORIES FOR TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH BECOME AN OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE – THE IRT
The year 2024 was a pivotal year for the Laboratories for Translational Research (LRT) of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, as it marked the acceleration of negotiations that the EOC and the Università della svizzera italiana (USI) had been pursuing for some time with a view to transforming the Laboratories into a fully-fledged university institute – the Institute for Translational Research (IRT). These negotiations concluded in the first half of 2025 with the official signing of an agreement, establishing the launch of the IRT on 1 July 2025.
