Stella Monestier was awarded the first Best Poster 2025 at the Symposium with EPFL BioE Days 2025 held in Lausanne, Switzerland, August 21st-22nd, 2025.
The Poster “Biofabrication of a 3D human skeletal muscle microenvironment to study the early steps of fibrosis” presents a 3D human skeletal muscle model designed to investigate early mechanisms of fibrosis. By integrating contractile myobundles with fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and macrophages, the system reproduces fibrotic and inflammatory conditions. This model enabled the assessment of dystrophic fibroblasts’ pathological effects, the partial therapeutic response to Nintedanib, and the early features of EndoMT.
